I tested with `smbclient` and `watch` from terminal, and the transfer speeds appeared to be about 11MB/s, so the problem is with the GUI Samba client. I tried out with the ip address instead of the server name, but I got the same results. So the main problem is not with the firewall. I tried out `systemctl stop firewalld`, now instead of 4.4MB/s I got 4.9MB/s, which is slightly better. I don't understand what's wrong with the Fedora Samba client. With Windows I downloaded with 10MB/s on wifi and 84MB/s on cable from the server, so I think it is configured well. My Samba server is on Ubuntu 14.04 connected to the modem with cable. I just tested the internet speed with okla and the download was 11MB/s. What is interesting here, that we are talking about internal network and Samba file share. Go to Device Manager (right click on My Computer, choose Manage and then find Device Manager in the left panel), or right click on Start Menu for Windows 10 and select Device. Extract the file to a folder of your choice. Is there a way to change or configure the driver to get 10MB/s instead of 4MB/s on Fedora? In order to manually update your driver, follow the steps below (the next steps): 1. Root cause: Windows could not connect to '- (censored)' You can try to connect again. Issue referred to: RNWF MSM Helper Class. I have a TP Link wifi card with Atheros AR9485 chip (150Mbps). Interface name: Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 Wireless Network Adapter. I compared it with Fedora 23, I had 3MB/s and now I got 4MB/s, what is still very slow. I got 5MB/s on Windows 7, but last night after 10 hours of searching I managed to get 10MB/s out of the wifi card and the modem by combined 2.4GHz and 5GHz mixed n wifi.
